A Charity Cycling event for all ages and abilities with Phil Liggett Sunday 18th Sept 2016

Great news! The Cornwall Coast and Clay Sportive is back again for 2016. Building on the success of 2015, this year’s event will be even bigger and better.

Already popular with those riders who took part last year, ‘Cycling Weekly’ has named this event as one of ’16 of the best British sportives to ride in 2016’. So if you want to experience some of the most scenic cycling in Britain, now is the time to plan a weekend away in the beautiful county of Cornwall and get your entry in soon.

 This year’s nominated charities are:

Merlin MS Centre (www.merlinmscentre.org.uk)

Cornwall Hospice Care  (www.cornwallhospicecare.co.uk)

Helping Rhinos  (www.helpingrhinos.org)

We are delighted to announce that, once again, Phil Liggett (the Voice of Cycling) has confirmed his attendance. Come and meet the legend of a man, ride with him, hear his cycling stories and learn about his crusade to help stop the slaughter of rhinos around the world.

This year’s event has 4 routes. There is something for everybody, from the complete beginner to the hardened cyclist who likes a challenge.

EXTREME 101 MILES / 163km

EPIC 71 MILES / 115km

All the routes are designed to provide enjoyable and safe cycling in spectacular scenery. We start and finish in the grounds of Trewan Hall, St Columb Major. En route, you will experience the coastline and cliffs of the north coast, beautiful country lanes of mid Cornwall and the calmer and gentler south coast, before winding your way back through the Cornish countryside where spectacular views and beaches lead to the finish. The route will be well signposted, with strategically placed marshals, well-stocked feed stations and a few hills! All finishers will be awarded a medal and there will be food and drink at the finish.
